Chapter summaries for The Land of Stories: A Grimm Warning

 

5.)  When Conner hears the untold story by Brothers Grimm, he realizes that there is a message behind it, more like a warning. A warning that could change his life forever and he can't  warn the people that matter most to him but he knows he has to figure out a way no matter what it takes.

 

8.)  Alex is attending the Fairy Intrugural Ball to officiallybe the next Fairy Godmother. It was very stressful for her. After she finally calmed herself down a little and came down the stairs, to her surprize, she had to pass a test. Through her training she already passed 3 parts of the test but the 4th was a speetch. She gave a speetch on her previous journies in The Land of Stories and passed the test with a standing ovation but then 3 witches came to give a crazy warning. Then Mothe Goose started to worry and had to warn Conner to go on a jouney to save everyone.

 

13.)  When Little Red Riding Hood is having her house of progress meeting, (which is when she helps the town and answers question) she is challenged by Little Bow Peep to be the next queen. Now they are having a rivalry and being asked questions to see if Red will keep her crown or Peep will be the next ruler.

 

14.)  After Conner, Emerich, and Bree plumit into The Land of Stories, they over hear the army talking; They are talking about recruiting at the prison and taking over the world. Conner and his friends now must race throgh the forestto warn Alex and the fairies for the upcoming battle.

 

16.)  When the Grande Armee enters the pinocchio prison, they convince all the prisoners to join their side in battle, but one has more to say than the others. The Masked Man tells the general how to defeat the fairies... with a dragon! Together they can fially defeat the fairiesonce and for all.

 

27.) In order to fight the Grande Armee, Alex must come up with a plan to get all of the soldiers back to the fairy palace without being seen in a matter of minutes. When she finally comes up with an amazing world saving plan, she realizes that all she need to do to  do the plan is believe in her self. So then, Alex and Conner did a spell together that knowone ever thought was possible.

 

28.) The Grande Armee srrives and everyone is battling to save, or clame all the kingdoms. the kingdom armies out number the Grande Armee but it is still a fierce battle. As the royals are tied up and tortured because Alex's boyfriend Rook betray them, know one knows exactly what to do to win this battle. Meanwhile, Alex unties the royals, as they say they want to fight in the army, Conner saves Emmerich and Bree, and Alex finds out what Rook did to the royals. Also, Conner leads the army in a plan to win.

 

29.)  As they think they are winning, the battle, the Grande Armee reveils their secret weapon, the dragon! Then, the general asks the masked man to do a simple deed but he refuzed. He claimed  he tricked the general to do what he wanted all along, and for the first time, the general looked afraid! The masked man killed the general by controlling the dragon and told the dragon to desrtoy the palace but he was stopped by little bow peep. Bow peep loved the masked man and tried to stop him from doing something that would break her stone heart but he didnt listen. He sent the dragon to kill them all. but, their grandmother came alive for one last time  to slay the dragon, and was the only one that knew how and she saved everyone. Then she took her last breath and died, therefor officially giving her place to Alex Bailey, as the next fairy godmother.

 

 

 

 

   A long time ago, three small children named Kate, Michael, and Emma, were chased out of their homes and seperated from their parents by the forces of the merciless darkness, for a reason they do not understand.Years later, they come upon an enchanted atlas, that transports them to the past. And as they go on the surprising riskful journies on the way, they get closer and closer to finding out what seperated them from their parents, and if they will ever see them again. Along the way, they start to realise that a long time ago, magic existed. Also there was a really mean countess who ruled over everyone, seperated them from their families, and wouldn't regret killing every child one by one to get what she wants.They meet Dr. Pym many times in the past and each time, he helps them get closer and closer to their mother and father and learn more and more about why the Countess is doing what she is and why she is torcherng everyone. Along the way, they leave Michael behind with the Countess on accident, and as they are saving him, Kate suddenly over hears the Countess talking about her. She said the Book has marked her, and Kate soon finds out what that means. Then, Abraham, leads emma, Kate, and Michael (who has just been saved) out and into the woods so they can find the Atlas and get home. But the Countesses mean wolves and screecher surround them but when they are about to die, a fearless man named Gabriel saves them and tells them where to go in order to find the book and go home, back to the present. As they go through the secret tunnels, Emma gets seperated from Michael and Kate and almost dies with a poisoned aero shot right through her, and they realise the battle has begun. This Book is a huge adventure of family, bravory, fear, and love. Read the book if your up for the journey.

 

Chapter summaries for The Books of Beggining: The Emerald Atlas

 

Prologue:  It was Christmas Eve when Kate was 6, and promised her mom she would look after her siblings. Alot happened that day. Her mom and dad were seperated from them, their parents were talking to a mysterious person, and they were saying strange things like ''it had to be done,'' or ''They must fulfill their destiny.'' And then, the children were in a car chace because two men wanted to kill them. Butthey barley made it out alive and were dropped off at an orphanage, seperated from who they loved.

 

2.) Since Kate Michael, and Emma missed their chance of getting adopted because they were rude to the lady, Mrs. Crumley sent them to a new orphanage, one that is supposedly worse than the last. So, when they start to think Mrs. Crumley is sending them to a place that does not exsist, or sending them to their doom, they get suspisious.Then, when they see it is real, there is a horse drawn carrige awaiting them. Also, when they arrive at a HUGE, creepy, large house, Kate could have sworn that was the one she saw in her dream.

 

4.) They travled through the book and landed in the past at the end of chapter 3. Then as they explore, they fing a bunch of kids trapped by a mean lady named the countess who will kill all of them if she doesn't get what she wants soon and the children reallt start to worrywhat is happening, and mostly, that they left Michael with the Countess on accident.

 

6.) Emma and Kate went into Abraham's room to ask what they should do to get Michael back. But most importantly, where they were when they transported through the book.When the talk was over, the black page in the book swallowed them up and Kate felt a strange feeling, because the blackness spread to her fingers and gave her the felling that it wanted to remember her.

 

8.) As the children have to escape Countess's trapped house they come apon a herd of wolves that the Countess has starved and let go to kill them, and they think it is over until a tall strong man named Gabriel saves them and gives them a place to stay.

 

10.) The children and Gabriel are going through a secret underground "maze" to get away from the screetchers but on their way, Kate has a vision of one of the books of beggining that can get her back home. But as she went through the random tunnels, the vision got lost. Then, Michael followed Kate who was chasing a vision she saw of the book which wasn't real, and Emma went alone to save Gabriel from the sceechers.Then someon captured them and are lost and seperated from their sister.

 

12.) Emma was shot by an arrow while trying to save Gabriel and was posioned and dying. They were surrounded by Salmac-tar and thought it was the end.  Meanwhile, Kate and Michael met Dr. Pym in the dwarf's cell and they talked about the past, Emma, the childrens' stories, and the dwarf's history along with the Countess's history.

 

15.) As Hamish led them into the path for the dead city so Hamish could get the Book of Beginning, they had to do dangerous risks, but it didn't matter. It was all beauty when they arrived in the dead city. Meanwhile, Emma saw that because Gabriel saved her, he was dying because of the posion and didn't save himself, but only Emma. When she has to leave she actually becomes friends with a mean girl she didnt like before.  Also there is a talk in town about not fighting against the Countess, but Emma convinces them to fight, and later sees Gabriel come back alive.

 

17) Kate got passed the dead city and went inside the vault to get the book for Hamish because she was forced to. But when she touched it, she went into the past and saw Dr. Pym and got mad becuase of his questions and convinced her to put the book down.  Then, after she turnrd around, she was suprised to see her mother standing before her. But then the floor disappeared again and she went back without the book without her mother, and without her guestion for Dr. Pym answered. When she arrived back, was captured by the secretary, and was seperated from Michael.

 

19.) When Kate was talking with the Secretary he was saying that if she didnt tell her what he asked, he would kill an orphan or kill Michael.  When he was talking to her, she learned a lot about her visions and many other various important things and was threatened alot by the Secretary to answer even more.  Then once she was learning about the book, he yelled and said they were under attack. Various things happened in that chapter. But, they fought in the battle against the Countess and their Screechers, she was reunited with her siblings, and Dr. Pym saved everyone by using his magic to get rid of the Salmac-tar. They won the battle for now, but there were more battles to come.

Exposition:

 

Characters: Willow, Mai, Quang-ha, Pattie, Dell, Jairo, Lenore Cole, Willow's mom and dad, and chedder.

 

Setting: Baker's Field, California

 

Dramatic Situation: Willow's parents die (for the second time) and she is struggling with adapting to the situation.

 

Conflict that Motivates: She discovers life and what more she needs to figure out about it. Her motivation is that she is getting love, support, and care from everyone, and the signs around her helps her see that no matter what, "Life goes on."

 

Opstacles: Willow can't fit in, her parents die, she has to adapt to a new lifestyle and "house"(really a garage) and her new traditions and changes are hard to adapt to.

 

Rising Action:

 

Complication: Willow can not fit in and other kids think she's weird. Also, since she is so smart, she got accused of cheeting on a very hard, major state test.

 

Changes in Motivation: When she meets her friend Mai and meets Dell, when she is being called weird and being acused of cheating, it doesn't matter to heranymore. All that matters, are her friends.

 

Obstacles: Willow can't fit in, is accusued of cheating because she is so smart, and other people are trying to make her feel bad and trying to change her.

 

Climax:

 

It was a great day when Willow, Mai, Quang-ha, and Dell were at the park having a wonderful picnic. This was the first time Willow went somewhere with her knew friends other than seeing them at school.She never wanted to leave... for TWO reasons. One reason is that she was having so much fun and didn't want it to end. The second reason is because she wanted to rewind back to the happiness in the past, for fear that she would never be happy again. When Willow got home, she saw a police officer in her drive way. And when the police officer was privatly talking to Dell, she over heard the officer say, "There has been an accident." And soon, Willow finished the puzzle. She realized her parents were dead. "NoNoNoNoNoNo."she thought. "I need to rewind. I need to go back. Will anyone go with me?" Willow was adopted and was only with those parents for two months. So, she didn't know them well, but missed them. They were apart of her. "What are the odds of loosing your parents twice when your only 12 years old?" she thought.

 

Falling Action:

 

Events/After Effects: Willow has no place to stay or anyone to stay with, but Mai convinces Pattie to let her stay with them.

 

Events/After Effects: Willow is struggling with moving on, getting used to with new traditions, and is having alot of trouble and problems with adaptions coming her way.

 

Events/After Effects: Willow and her "family" don't want her to leave and live in the orphage, but it is what she feels is right and what she feels she has to do.

 

Events/After Effects: When she is about to left them ,(her "family")when she arrived at the orphanage, her "family" surprised her with positive encougment and great news.

 

Resolution:

 

Lenore Cole, (the adoption lady who has been trying to find Willow a home) finally found a place for Willow to stay. Pattie was keeping her. She left that day thinking she was living at the adoption place now, but was just surprised to see her family with exciting news.Then when she got to her forever home, she stepped in her garden and watched the beauty and actions around her. And then she realised that everything around her from the beggining was just a sign telling her that "Life goes on."
